Post-Cyclone Cleanup by Scout Volunteers
After Cyclone Rimal hit our area, we witnessed the severe damage and mess it left behind—especially around our college and nearby communities. As scouts, we felt it was our duty to stand beside people in this time of need. Our sense of responsibility, compassion for our community, and the spirit of teamwork inspired us to take action and help restore cleanliness and hope.
After the cyclone passed, our scout group quickly gathered and assessed the affected areas. We formed small teams and started cleaning our college campus and nearby locations. Using brooms, gloves, sacks, and other tools, we removed fallen trees, debris, and waste. We also helped clear blocked pathways and supported minor repairs. Our teamwork, coordination, and commitment allowed us to complete the cleanup efficiently and make a positive impact in a short time.
Throughout this project, we learned the importance of quick and organized action during emergencies. We realized that teamwork and community cooperation are vital to overcoming challenges caused by natural disasters. Additionally, we understood that even youth can play a significant role in disaster recovery and community resilience. This experience strengthened our sense of responsibility and commitment to serving others.
