Play is meant for children

Play is meant for young children. Young children doesn’t need standard environment and equipment to engage in play. This is a story of young boys and girls who play during their free time. A small assembly ground is turned into meaning play ground for children. Optimum use of the ground by children motivated us to take as a project and the goal is to share importance of play for children with everyone in the locality.
The project took place in Pelrithang Higher Secondary school under Gelephu District ,Bhutan. Few volunteers (teachers) took initiatives to draw various jump games lines on the concrete small assembly ground. Such as hopscotch line, kabadi line and few more lines for other games that involves jumps and run using various colour (paints).
More than 600 children class from Pre primary to three uses these beautifully drawn lines on the ground. Making children to shift their play ground from a muddy area to a concrete, well painted line and bigger ground could improve the quality of their play and also the health and hygiene of children.
Play offers opportunities to analyze the connections between play, learning, and development. Initially, we observed children playing on the muddy plain surface by drawing lines on it and play jump games such as hopscotch. Children become so untidy right after the play in those areas. Therefore, adults must create play environment which is save, secure and welcoming play fields in a innovative way. In this way, we can promote the children's play and the health and physical of the young children.
