PLANT TREES, SAVE FUTURE: Tree Growing
In a current global climate condition, human plays an important role that will contribute to the resiliency of the community in terms of environmental issues. Seeing young people involve in the different environmental concern activities, gives me hope that they can be an agent of change in every little way. As an Outfit Advisor, guiding my scouts in their journey in scouting movement, I expose them into a responsibility that will develop their leadership and concern to the community.
The project "Plant Trees, Save Future", is a tree planting, caring, and nurturing project started last May 8, 2022 at Brgy. Divisoria, Alangalang, Leyte, Philippines. This was headed by Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Alangalang National High School and with the coordination of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction of the municipality and local government unit. This was done thru linkages and coordination to public and private agencies.
The project started on the day the trees were planted and it will be visited by the Scouts and partner Local Government Unit agency for clearing and monitoring for sustainable growth of the trees. Approximately 15 days of the whole duration of the project to be completed including planting, clearing, and monitoring of the trees.
The following are the impacts of the project: 1. Strong relationship between the community and other public and private organization. 2. Scouts develop environmental stewardship and leadership among themselves. 3. The community will be prevented from the possible flood in the future.
Good planning and communication lead into the success of the implementation of the project.
