"The most powerful weapon you can be is to be an instrument of PEACE" - Carlos Santana The Messengers of Peace - Philippines launched today a month-long Social Media awareness about the on-going hostilities in Middle East. The conflict resulted to deaths of innocent civilians and most of the hardest hit are the innocent children from both sides. It is really horrifying to see innocent civilians die because of this war. The conflict may have been running for centuries now but that does not mean that as a human, you won't do anything to help end the violence going on and help alleviate the situation of the people residing there. The project's first phase aim is to make people aware of what's happening in Middle East and the long term effects of this on-going hostilities on the lives of the people affected: both physical and psychological. We want to send a message to the world that the Philippine scouts condemns the act of violence and the use of terrorism. Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding, acceptance and forgiveness of both parties. To be clear, the group does not and will not take sides on the issue. Our main focus is AWARENESS, HELP RESOLVE CONFLICT, PROMOTE PEACE, AND PROVIDE HELP ON THE ON-GOING HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS to both sides. The second phase of the project will be focused on the donation drive efforts for the families affected.
