PeerHelpersTraining; I SupportMy Friends in School

Inspired after attending the training on I Support My Friends. It is a peer-to-peer psychosocial Support Service that is specifically designed for Peer Helpers in how to best support their friends following a distressing event. It is crucial that adolescents are aware of and have access to relevant, reliable support systems that contribute to their ability to adapt, activate and strengthen positive coping skills that will help themselves and their friends adapt during and after a crisis event.

Training on I Support My Friends in school was conducted to peer helpers of our school at IT lab. Peer helpers were facilitated one day training training program according to traning manual on I Support My Friends in School. It includes sources of safety and support in our community & risks and difficult experiences of children/adolescents in our community, how to support my friend with using PFA principle; Look, Listen, Link, confidentiality and self-care

Peer helper Training; I Support My Friends in Schools basically recognizes the agency/schools and capacity Peer Helpers to develop the skills to support their friends and ensures that they can do so safely with close supervision of Counsellors. This training has benefited 22 peer helpers.

Learned how to organize and facilitating skills during training to our students. It would be better if we extend the training to student leaders.
