Peaceful Dialogue at Thammasart University

It was inspired by the belief that many conflicts come from misperceptions and a lack of listening, not from true differences. We wanted to create safe spaces where participants could practice empathy, respect identities, and use dialogue as a tool for peace. Our motivation was to equip them with skills they can carry into schools, workplaces, and communities to build harmony.
The workshop was conducted at Thammasart University on 29 March 2025 with 40 university students. We introduced them to the practice of listening with empathy, respecting identities, and reflecting on perceptions. Through interactive discussions, role-play, and inter-religious dialogue, students explored how faith and cultural diversity can enrich understanding while reducing conflict.
This project highlighted that cultivating empathetic listening, acknowledging diverse identities, and addressing perceptions and misperceptions are essential skills for fostering mutual understanding, strengthening collaboration, and building sustainable harmony across educational, workplace, and community settings.
