Peace walk and Planting peace sapling

Kanglung, 21st  September

Kanglung Primary School in collaboration with Rovers from Sgerabtse Collage organized the Peace Walk and Peace tree planting to mark the International Peace Day, on 21st September from 7:00 am to 11: 30 am at Kanglung town.

The program started at 7:00 am with National Anthem and Scout anthem, followed by speech by Chief Guest, the President of Sherabtse collage. “Environment protection is not the responsibility of the government alone”. The scouts sang few yells along with the peace dance. Then after the tea break, by 8:00 am, the chief Guest and the teacher started planting peace plants. The students along with the teachers and Rover scouts started the peace walk cum picking wastes along the highway and market areas to sensitize people and the community. On the way the participants are served refreshment and as well as planted saplings. The aim of the events is to create the awareness among the people.

The earnest and the energetic participation by the students and teachers lived up to the mission.
