Peace grows where dialogue begin
We recognized that many conflicts in schools and communities often arise from misunderstanding and lack of empathy as well as communication skills. When students shared their backgrounds and perspectives, it enriched the dialogue and created respect across differences.
40 Grade 7 students came together to take part in peace dialogue activities designed to strengthen their understanding of empathy, respect, and identity. Throughout the one-day workshop, students learned how to listen attentively and with compassion, discovering that true peace begins when every voice is heard and every identity is valued.
We learned that when students practice listening with empathy, it opens the door to understanding. Many young participants realized for the first time that listening without judgment is as important as speaking their minds.
