Peace Garden

Peace Garden

Boy Scouts of America, Troop 870, Eagle Scout candidate Ross M. Ritsch designed and installed a xeroscape garden and path, with a bench for meditation built from refurbished materials, and constructed a steel I-beam and plank privacy wall for his beneficiary, St. Philip's College, in their Peace Garden. The project required approximately 250 man hours. 26 volunteers participated. Utilizing a xeroscape design, he leveraged the environmental aspect of the Messengers of Peace. Creating a beautiful and serene space for the students, faculty and friends of St. Philip's College addresses the community dimension. The refurbished seat for individual reflection reaches the personal dimension for the Messengers of Peace. St. Philip’s College is located in Alice Springs, Australia.
