As an environmental advocate, there is a need to take action to save the nature and environment from abuse and over-usage. In order for the community to unite and combat environmental abuse, one must take the first step and serve as a role model for everyone, especially the younger generation.
This project is a community-based project initiated by the group of youths in the small community of Hacienda San Miguel. This is held every 21st day of April, which is also the Earth Day Celebration. This tree-planting project along the riverbanks of the community aims to help combat the effects of climate change and global warming in the said community, at the same time help protect the community from adverse effect of frequent flooding of the rivers nearby.
On the implementation of this project, I learned that in order for everyone to unite and move together towards the betterment of everyone, it is necessary to have someone to take the first step and serve as a role model for everybody. With that person taking the lead, it can create a ripple to others to also follow the right direction in nature preservation.
