Pack 78 Framingham, MA - Victory Over Hunger Garden
The Cub Scouts of Pack 78 Framingham planned and planted a garden in Framingham, MA with 100% of the vegetables produced going to the homeless and those in need. Every fall, the scouts work to gather donated canned items for those in need. The scouts have a connection to helping others and wanted to take this futher. The garden is growing vegetables including tomatoes, peppers, carrots, green beans, squash, cucumbers and more. The goal of the project was to create a free source of food for those in need who live in our community. In addition, the Scouts planned to create a cost effective food source producing an abundant harvest while learning about helping others and planting. Scouts are doing the work planting, caring for the garden, and harvesting the food as well as organizing the donations. 100% of the harvested vegetables are being donated to people who are homeless and in need of food in our local community.
