The “Zero Waste Hour” was launched by Her majesty The Gyaltsuen, the President of the Bhutan Red Cross Society on 2nd June 2019, the noble initiative to instill the behavior change towards proper waste management and to practice sustainable consumption lifestyle. Bhutan now observes at least an hour on the second day of every month as the “Zero Waste Hour” towards achieving Bhutan’s vision of Zero Waste Society by 2030. The school and parents has cleaned the office surrounding, cut grasses along school entrance and collected waste. The event will be called on every second day of the month with the vision to achieve national goal of ‘Zero Waste Society by 2030’.
