#NowForClimate: Banyumas Scouts Take Action

First, we were inspired by the global #NowForClimate campaign and World Environment Day 2026 to transition from theoretical environmental advocacy into tangible, ground-level action. Second, we were driven by the belief that real climate work requires youth to step up as catalysts alongside local authorities to achieve official environmental goals.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, The "Kalpataru" Environmental Scout Specialty Unit of the Banyumas Scout District joined forces with approximately 230 local Environmental Department employees to plant 60 Tabebuya (Handroanthus chrysotrichus) trees at Purwanegara Field. The event was officially opened by dr. Arif Sugiono, the Acting Head of the Banyumas Environmental Department, who emphasized that meaningful climate action relies heavily on cross-generational collaboration.

The project proved that real climate work relies heavily on cross-generational collaboration. Bringing together 20 passionate youth scouts and 230 government workers created a powerful synergy that bridged the gap between official policy and ground-level action.
