National toothbrushing day was organised for whole of Fiji. I coordinated the toothbrushing programme at Natabua Primary School. There wer altogether 615 participants. A toothbrush and a sachet of Colgate toothpaste was handed to all the participants prior to the programme by Colgate Palmolive in conjunction with Ministry of Health. At 12.30pm whole of Fiji brushed collectively as a nation. The eight steps of proper toothbushing was followed. This programme was organised to create awareness of the importance of keeping our teeth clean. A day was put aside to remind us of the general cleanliness of our teeth and to take oral health care. The theme was 'Healthy Teeth, Healthy Smile'. This programme was also part of Health Promoting School initiative for Water Sanitation and Hygiene.
