National Scouting Day Celebration at Samdrup Jongkhar

The Bhutan Schout Association in collaboration with Samdrup Jongkhar district and Minicipal office celebrated the national Scout Day  cum Birth Anniversary of our His Majesty the King, Jigme Kheser Namgyal Wangchuck's Birth Anniversay at Samdrup Jongkhar MSS. The scout leaders, scout boys and girls from the Middle and Higher Secondrary schools and leadership scouts took part in this special occassion. The District scout commissioner graced this occassion. He shared his wishes for the King and presented the activities carried out by the King for the welfare of the country and people. He also  highlighted on the importance of the celebration of Scouting day. He reminded the scouts as an agent of change need to be value based-citizen and works with utmost dedication for the positive impacts of our country.

The police personnels, leadership scouts and the scouts from higher schools took part in the gaurd of honour ceremony. The scout members also presented various cultural items, games and value based-skits for the people who have come to witness the celebration. The scouts were also involved in the exhibition of various food items prepared by them. 

On this special occassion, BSA honoured few scout leaders for their outstanding and significant contributions for the promotion of scouting in our country-

1. Mr. Pema Wangchuk, Dy. commissioner, BSA was awarded the life achivement award.

2. 3 scout leaders were awarded Gold, silver and bronze medals and certificates for the active participation and outstanding contributions in the promotion of scouting.
