National Peace walk and Tree planting

The event dubbed, “Peace in Ghana Youth Concern” as part of the Scouts Promoting Peaceful Election in Ghana project ;was seen as the first big thing of the Messengers of Peace Ghana Project and to create awareness of the long awaited peace everyone has been advocating towards this year’s general elections. The programme started at 6:30am and ended at 3:00pm on the 24th of November, 2012. The walk commenced at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle (Obra Spot) through to UTC, Rawlings Park, High Street and then ended at the Accra Sports Stadium.The peace walk was exciting and fun with over 4000 participants from different schools and other youth organizations. Below is a list of all organisations that participated in the peace walk: Institutions / Organizations1.National Cadets Corps-Ghana    2. Ghana Scout Association3. Ghana Red Cross Society    4.YMCA 5. YWCA    6.Head of State Award Scheme 7. St Johns Ambulance 8. Raleigh International 9. PPP    10. Greater Accra SRCWe also had representatives of the various political parties including the independent candidates were invited,.
