The World Peace Day was established in 1981 by the United Nations and is observed around the world each year on 21st September. In respond to the Peace Day, on 12th September a program was held by the Membakut District Scouts in Membakut Sabah.

At 06:00a.m. to 07:30a.m. registration and preparation on the area of the parade begin for the team that involved while waiting for the arrival of the official and distinction of honors.

From 07:30a.m. the parade started with “Kelab Berbasikal Klasik Membakut”; 10 RELA carrying Jalur Gemilang; 14 Kadet Remaja Sekolah carrying 14 states flags and followed by the parade contingent. 9 teams from the non government organization, 3 from primary school and 11 from secondary school. 

The program continued with the opening ceremony of the National Day celebration of the small district Membakut at 09:00a.m. The Jalur Gemilang flag raising ceremony was conducted by the police officer accompanied by the national anthem and state anthem.

YB Datuk Hj Mohd Arifin Bin Hj Mohd Arif (ADUN N.24 Membakut) delivered the opening speech signified the opening ceremony.

The recital of the National Principles was lead by one of the Membakut District scout. Performance was carried by the choir team of SMK Membakut and continued with declaration of poem and singing performance from the representatives of Membakut District scout. The ceremony ended with the announcement and followed by the awarded of the parade winner.
