MoP Initiative Inspired by Rovers

The project of “MoP Initiative Inspired by Rovers” has funded by SCOUTS QUIDES DE FRANCE and led by Mr Em Piseth, Deputy Int’l Commissioner and National Coordinator of MoP Initiative. The project is aimed at training and educating Rovers of the Cambodia Scouts about Scouting and the Messenger of Peace Initiative of WOSM. Since the creation of the Messenger of Peace Initiative, the Cambodia Scouts has not formulated any project to propose for funds from APR-WOSM to implement in Cambodia as Cambodian Rovers do not possess the necessary knowledge and prowess in organising, developing, managing and implementing projects in their communities. Moreover, due to the limited knowledge and skills of the Rovers, they are not able to develop and set projects of the Messenger of Peace Initiative in relation with Scouting in motion. For Cambodian Rovers to be capable of formulating and implementing projects of the Messenger of Peace Initiative, it is important that “Training Courses on MoP Project Development (TC-MPD)” be delicately designed to offer the genuine knowledge to the Rovers in Phnom Penh and other 3 target provinces (Takeo, Battambang and Siem Reap) with the number of participants of 150. Participants will be selected from both public and private educational institutions. After participating in the courses, the 150 Rovers will play a role as coordinators in the Messenger of Peace Program at their respective scout units. More importantly, they will possess the necessary knowledge on Scouting and the implementation of projects of the Messenger of Peace so as to propose for funds for APR-WOSM. Also, they will be able to develop social projects with other fellow regional and global Rovers for the purpose of developing their communities.
