Miles for Smiles: Scouts Promoting Good Health
The inspiration for this project came from a desire to empower Scouts to actively contribute to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by promoting fitness and healthy habits. Recognizing the importance of physical activity in building resilience and fostering teamwork, the Mini Marathon was conceptualized to encourage young minds to lead by example, advocating for healthier lifestyles while strengthening their commitment to sustainable development and community well-being.
We executed the project by collaborating with Scout leaders, volunteers, and local health organizations. The plan included participant registration, route setup, safety measures, and awareness sessions on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Scouts promoted the event, and on marathon day, they inspired communities by demonstrating their commitment to healthier lifestyles and sustainable goals.
The project taught us the importance of teamwork, community engagement, and promoting SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through action. We learned how effective planning, collaboration, and awareness can inspire positive change. Additionally, empowering Scouts to lead by example reinforced the value of leadership, responsibility, and fostering a culture of health and sustainability within the community.
