Messengers of Peace Training for Leaders in Afghanistan
Afghanistan National Scout Organization (ANSO), in collaboration with World Scout Bureau Asia Pacific Support Center (WSB/APR) and sponsored by Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Support for Afghanistan (PARSA), organized a Messengers of Peace Team Afghanistan Gathering last 17-21 April 2019 at the PARSA Afghan Scouts National Training Center, Kabul.
The opening ceremony was lead by Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Qari Zada, Director of Scout Department in Ministry of Education and ANSO Chief Commissioner. He discussed to the participants the importance of Messengers of Peace and the Scout movement in Aghanistan as well the growing number of Scouts in the country. The workshop started with the first session headed by Mr. Tamim Hamkar, Director of PARSA Afghan and MoP Getherin Director that includes Participants Expectation and Training Objective. Scout Leaders from Bharat Scouts and Guides and Pakistan Boy Scout Association were also invited as Resource Person to support the gathering.
A total of 56 participants from 30 provinces of Afghanistan attended the gathering. The gathering introduced the participants to the current situation of ANSO with its growing number of Scouts in respective provinces and the strategies to further promote and develop the Scouting in the country. A field visit was also conducted at Habibia High School, Kabul City participated by 253 Scouts and Non-Scouts students. To conclude the event, participants were asked to make their action plan for the year 2019-2020.
