Messenger of Peace Roadshow at the 6th National Scout Venture Camp: Lingayen, Pangasinan

The Messenger of Peace National Service Team, composed of young members of the MOP Luzon National Ambassadors/Trainees and under the guidance and leadership of Sctr. Neilbrien Pamo of Pangasinan-San Carlos City Council, spearheaded the MOP Module in the recently concluded 6th National Scout Venture Camp held in Lingayen Beach Front, Pangasinan last May 5-10, 2014. The National Venture Camp was well attended by several BSP Councils coming from different parts of the country, bulk of which came from the Northern Luzon provinces. The event was highly supported by the local government unit of the province led by Governor Amado Espino JR, who is also the current Regional Chairman, and NSVC Camp Director Former Mayor Ramon Morden. Together with several Government Organizations (i.e.DENR, BFAR, PNP etc) and NGOs (Greenpeace, UN), the Messenger of Peace module was also assigned under the Global Development Village program and implemented it for three consecutive days. The following sub activities were included in the MOP module: Video Presentation about Peace and Networking, Online Registration Drive for the Scout.org online platform, Drawing for Peace and Sing-A-Song (Alele). Aside from building capacity through registration campaign, the team focused on teaching Scouts on how to effectively use the Scouts.org platform to share their service projects to other Scouts and encourage them to become leaders in their respective communities by creating their own initiatives that will alleviate the conditions of their target beneficiaries. Smart Communications (https://www.facebook.com/SmartCommunications), the largest telecom company in the Philippines and our partner for this MOP Roadshow, provided event tent structures and internet connection. The items were used on our outdoor activities and for the online registration of scouts on Scout.org platform.
