Menstrual Day Celebration in school

Every month a woman of reproductive age shed blood from their reproductive organs. For many, it is a disconcerting phenomenon. It can be painful or at least uncomfortable. However, you have every reason to be happy when you should shed this blood. That time of the month should be a celebration.

Menstrual Hygiene Day was celebrated on 26th May 2018, highlighting the theme “Break the silence.” The program was conducted by the scouts in collaboration with school health program by distributing sanitary pads to our girls from classes VI to X, being sponsored by the BCS staff and scout masters.

The main objective of celebrating this day was to create an awareness, respect women and girls and to take away the social stigma when our girls and women are on menstruation.

To break the taboos surrounding menstruation, we must raise awareness of the importance of good menstrual hygiene management worldwide. Girls were also being advised on maintaining proper hygiene during menses using proper sanitary pads and water
