Mass Cleaning Campaign at GMC
The Announcement from Gelephu Mindfulness City Authority Office and the District Education Office based in Sarpang, allowing all the school under Sarpang Dzongkhag (District) for a day volunteer program ahead of project 108 which is scheduled on 1st November 2026.
As a school waste management coordinator, I made a pre-plan on how to execute and mobilize the mam power in each team.
On 16th October 2026, I called a short meeting with the class teachers at our school on the distribution of area and other significant announcements. We have divided our teams into eight groups consisting of students, teachers and non-teaching staff. The areas were oriented through map with the colour code location.
The programme witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and other school staff. The collective effort helped improve the cleanliness of the Samdrupling and Rabdeyling premises and its surroundings.
The advocacy session also helped reinforce awareness about personal hygiene, proper waste disposal, and environmental responsibility.
The participants have collected about 1600 kgs of waste consisting of cans, plastic, papers, rubbers, and bottles.
