THE LONG-LIFE PRAYER CEREMONY

The long-life prayer ceremony (Tse Dung Drup) recitation was conducted from 1st December 2016 till 11th December 2016 at the Thimphu Memorial Chorten. The prayer was presided by His holiness Kathok Situ Rinpoche, together with 30 monks from the Kathok Baylangdra Monastery. the prayer was held to Honor and celebrate the royal birth of Gyalsay Jigme Nimgyel Wangchuk. During the long-life prayer, monks had recited long life prayers to avert, misfortune, evil spirits, and negativity. The prayer will bring peace and harmony in the country of Bhutan and the world. It is also believed to have the power and blessing to extend and regenerate our lifespan. The prayer was concluded with ganachakara offerings of tshokor and a long-life empowerment to bless the devotees and the general public. During 11days prayer 216 volunteer are fully engage in cleaning, cooking food for monks and thousands of general publics, serving tea, juice and meals for VIP, monks and public, making butter lamp and tshog, public controlling, giving medication or helping with doctor to check the blood pressure of public, work at office, pitching tent and so on. Volunteer work from 6am till 7 to 8pm every day.
