The Kandy District President Scouts and President Guides Association being a fellowship of adult scout and girl guides organized this project in order to raise funds for the Kandy Cancer Home. This project took the form of a Sky Lantern Festival. This not only created awareness on cancer but also of the service done by scouts and girl guides. The project was held for 4 hours at with the participation of 60 members of the association and nearly 1000 of the genaral public. Sky Lanterns were sold to the public and the funds obtained through this was donated to the Cancer Home.
