Library of things, share objects within community.
We were inspired by foreign Libraries of Things as we wanted to put our own equipment to good use and expand the variety of objects at the same time. In this project both goals went hand-in-hand. And not to mention the environmental and financial benefits!
We set up a web page with descriptions and photos of all our objects. We set up a reservation and borrowing system and promoted the Library of Things. As we received some donations (especially from Scout Donation Platform), we could expand the number of objects, so that we atracted more members.
As the idea is quite new in our country, new members are slowly joining the platform. But we believe that the idea has a lot of potential to grow, so we hope at least our home town will benefit from the projects (although we already have members from other cities as well).
It was the first big project with local community and we hope it wasn't the last. We now know how to include local community in the project as well to spread the idea faster.
