KENCHO CHHOKHORLING GOENPA
Kencho Chhokhorling Goenpa is located on a mountain, nearly 2 hours walk from Gyalposhing, with a few monks and villagers, and a beautiful location with panoramic views of Gyalposhing. As it takes several hours to walk to the Goenpa, there appear to be fewer visitors.
Members of GCIT Tarayana Club went to Gyalposhing town to ask shopkeepers for donations so that club could visit Kencho Chhkhorling Goenpa. We purchased some essential food items with the donated funds and traveled to Goenpa on Duchen Nga Zom.
Despite the difficult journey, members of the club visited Goenpa successfully. The essential food items which was bought are for the monks of Goenpa. Whereby it was enjoyable journey for the members who volunteered to visit holy sites.
Helping the society and preserving our tradition solely depends on the younger generation. It is important for the youth to engage their leisure time providing assistance to the poor and needy ones.
