JOTA-JOTI 2013 CAMP FROM İZMİR - TURKEY

AS we are the scout group called İZDOS, We had a great weekend camp with 70 scouts and leaders in Çeşme-Paşalimanı Camp site, İzmir city, TURKEY. We would like to explain that 48 hours to you... ( we prepared a photo albume for you with 100 SPECIAL SHOTS in facebook.. please visit and look them.. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.602842583095893&type=1 ) On Friday afternoon, camp director and coordinators had gone to camp firstly to prepare everything for the scouts. Because although the time was limited, there were a lot to do including 9 featured challenges, 20 normal challenges, normal scouting processes ,ceremonies, campfire program, alltime joti and jota, daily routines,.... A great coordination was needed. As educational coordinator, all challenges and activites were were divided into 3 stations and 3 sections: 1) COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP : This station had tried to make scouts notice different communication systems used from past to now including ; ( coordinated by Mehmet Ali YALÇIN) a) semaphore ( http://scout.org/node/18838 ) b) Smoke signalling ( http://scout.org/node/18687 ) c) Secret codes ( http://scout.org/node/18842 ) d) Mirror signalling ( http://scout.org/node/18846 ) e) Morse signalling ( http://scout.org/node/18848 ) f) Phonetic alphabet ( http://scout.org/node/18849 ) g) Bullroarer practises ( http://scout.org/node/18683 ) h) Flag alphabet used by navy 2) ELECTRONIC-LAB WORKSHOP : This station had tried to make scouts notice different electronic devices and materials and also make them some experiments in fun including ; (coordinated by Ernam PEHLİVAN) a) Electronic cards ( http://scout.org/node/18861 ) b) Creating motors ( http://scout.org/node/18854 ) c) True-false board ( http://scout.org/node/18851 ) d) Wobble Bots ( http://scout.org/node/18850 ) e) Learning electronic materials 3) FREE CHALLENGE WORKSHOP : This station had tried to make scouts notice their talents. As result; there was talked with 60 scouts from 25 countries. These countries are ; SWEDEN (10), INDONESIA (5), UK(5), ITALY(4), PHILIPPINES(4), TURKEY(3), NORWAY(3), MALAYSIA (3), NICARAGUA (2), FINLAND(2), SPAIN(2), AUSTRALIA(2), GREECE(2), MALTA(2), MEXICO(1), NETHERLANDS (1), PORTUGAL (1), COLOMBIA(1), SOUTH AFRICA(1), ORLANDO(1), POLAND(1), FRANCE(1), USA(1), MAIRITIUS(1), SOUTH CYBRUS (1) 2nd SECTION; GLOBAL TORCH RACE : this was very excited event. We are the only group participated from our country for that race. As result we can collect 35 scouts from 4 country including Turkey, USA, Cosova and Phillipines.
