Introductory workshop for Messengers of Peace District Coordinator’s and District Commissioners on "Zero Waste" Public awareness environmental program
“Zero Waste” is an Environmental conservation program organized by Sri Lanka Scout Association with the support of Messengers of Peace initiative of World Organization of Scout Movement. The Project was mainly designed to educate general public in selected municipal areas of all districts on proper waste management techniques and 5R concepts.
The Introductory workshop of the "Zero Waste" project for the District Coordinators & District Commissioners was held on 12th October 2019 from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm at Hilton Colombo Residencies. National Officials along with District coordinators and District Commissioners from the Scout District successfully participated for the Workshop.

Introduction on Zero Waste Management, Introduction on Messengers of Peace Innitiative, Hand On Experience on Waste Management & Messengers of Peace Web & Project/ Post Upload are the main Sessions taken placed to Educate the Partcicipant on this Workshop. As a result of the Zero Waste Introduction Workshop, all District MOP Coordinators are expected to Conduct a Public Awarness programme at their own district from 1st to 3rd November 2019. Door to Door Awaerness, Public Promotions, Leaflet Dristribution are some of the expected activities to conduct at their respected areas.
