Girl Scouts section of Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association organised the first Women's Day Celebration

" International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.
On the 4th April 2021, Girl Scouts section celebrated the achievements of its female members ranging from Commissioners, AIS, Leaders and Girl Scouts with 9 Commissioners/Leaders/Rover Scout awarded Medals in appreciation as CoVid 19 frontliners and 31 Commissioners/Leaders/AIS, Rover scouts, Girl scouts receiving a certificate of appreciation for their efforts in various activities, not just in Girl Scouts section.
This celebration of achievements of Women in Scouting is designed to highlight and motivate other female members of BDSA not just to participate but also innovate scouting activities, especially in the younger generation. The event also featured an exhibition on all activities done by the Girl Scouts section since its creation in 2014 and a photo booth for participants to take pictures with SDG icons to raise awareness of SDGs.
This event serves as a benchmark for for the Girl Scouts section to organise this every year with effect from 2021.
The Girls Scouts section hopes that this project will inspire more female Leaders, AIS and scouts to take up initiatives and leadership particularly in community service
