International Scouting - Multi-Dimension

Personal and Community Dimensions. Our project this year involved working with the Special Needs scouts in Curacao. The Nafasi Groep was created by the Curacao WOSM scouts - Scouting Antiano. Our Project was done in 2 parts. Part 1. To create 2 craft projects that our Troop could teach the Nafasi Groep, while building relationships between our groups. The 1st craft was to create a combination flag, consisting of the US flag and the Curacao flag. The Curacao flag was painted by each Nafasi Groep member with the aid of our troop, and then affixed to the back of a premade US flag on a common small flag pole for them to take home. The 2nd craft was a little more challenging where paracord bracelets were partially created by our troop and finished by each Nafasi Groep member. The bracelets were made from paracord colors of the Curacao Flag. Part 2. Was to Clean and Paint the Nafasi Groep's Facility. The Facility consists of a classroom, central meeting area, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Our Troop painted the entire facility inside and out. After the 2 days of collaboration and work, both of our groups gathered for a small meal, and desert followed by some song and dance. During the activites above, each of our troop members had conquered some of their own personal fears while broadening their experiences, through a most humbling yet memorable trip.
