International Day of Peace was celebrated as a district organised programme. Lautoka Scouters Council invited all the district schools and interested stakeholders to be part of this important programme. The event was hosted by Drasa Avenue School, Lautoka,Fiji. There were about 250 participants including scouts, leaders, executives of LSC and officials from Fiji Forest Industries and Lautoka City Council. The theme for the programme was Climate Action for Peace. The event was activity based which included speeches, MOP song (Alele), Playcards display showing messages on Climate Change, Sustainable development, Being a peace maker, Conservation of Energy, Cleanliness and Proper rubbish disposal. The tree planting, community service and clean up campaign was also organised. All the participants learnt about their action to combat Climate Change, showing love to the mother nature and Peace begins with a smile.
