
Humanitarian Action by Rego Rovers
Kandy Rego Rovers came forward for another humanitarian action
500th Kandy Rego Rovers of Kandy District Branch of Sri Lanka Scout Association organized another Humanitarian project for the prevention of COVID-19 out break within Kandy Municipal area on 26th March 2020.
The main objective of the project was to ensure hand sanitation of the general public. Due to the prevailing COVID-19 outbreak of the country, when the curfew has been lifted, the people who come to the city will be insecure since they can be exposed to the undiagnosed COVID-19 carriers. Thus Rego rovers provided general public in the streets with hand sanitizers and disinfectant to clean their hands. More than 1000 Police officers, pavement hawkers, beggars and general public were benefited from the project
The program is being implemented under the special supervision of the Commissioner of the Kandy District Scout branch. A limited number of Rovers and Rover Scout Masters participated due to prevailing COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
