Helping hands to make a difference

Phase 1: All the scouts were given information about the about messenger of peace program.

 

 Phase 2: Scouts were asked to identify an area where they want to do their MoP project. After discussing with among the different patrol members they came up with a service activity that they are going to carryout in the 7 (seven) mosques in the Island.

 

  Phase 3: Scouts shared the idea with the scout leaders and requested to get permission from the concerned authorities to conduct their MoP project. Hence, the school principal have met the island Council President on 10th July 2019 and explained about the project and requested for his permission to go forward with the project. After his approval, school organized a parent meeting and explained about the MoP project and got their consent to involve their children in this project.

 

  Phase 4: Scouts were divided for 7 groups, and they were given clear instruction about what is expected from them in this project.  After that they have identified a leader and an assistant leader in their group, and they have started attending to the assigned Mosque on 19th July 2019, Friday morning at 6:00 am and they have continued their work helping in the cleaning with the mosque staff until 10:00 am. After that the scouts have started their work at 13:30 till 14:30, from 15:40 to 16:40 and 18:00 to 20:00.  The same was continued on 20th July 2018, Saturday.

 

 Phase 5:  All the scouts have donated a broom and a towel to the mosque which. Additionally some of the scouts have donated buckets and mops that the mosque staff can use to clean the mosque.
