A helping hand

A helping hand

As Scouts we have promised to help every person in every circumstance! During the month of April 2015 all explorers were messengers of Peace. All scouts all around the world as Messenger of Peace had to organize and present a project of Messengers of Peace. St. Antonius group of Scouting Antiano also participated at the National MOP project day. During the month of March 2015 all explorers of St Antonius Group discussed and analyzed from several projects which one we will choose. Finally we choose a very great project where we will give the clients of FMA, a foundation that dedicates itself to shelter and guidance of all kinds of addicts, clothes, food and puzzles. We chose to invite addicts guided by FMA to spend the day with the clients of “Dios yuda mi”. Through the media we asked the cooperation of the community to give all clothes, shoes, food and toys they do not use and that is useful for others. We collected and later on separated the clothes for women and men, shoes and toys for the children. The specific objectives for the project are: To bring scouting more in the community and let people know scouts can do other people happy. Live our promise. Finally the day itself has come. On April 18th 2015 a bus with clients of FMA, “Dios yuda mi” has arrived. They played domino, football, ate chicken and rice, danced old songs,. After that we had a great presentation of several scouts, cub scouts, ventures and explorers. Some cub scouts presented some children songs, a venture scout read a poem, a scout had a dance presentation. Other scout just had conversations with the clients and finally the addicts got to choose clothes, shoes and other personal items that the scouts have been collecting during the past month. At last all participants enjoyed the day with the clients. It was a tremendous project. Our objective was reached and the clients enjoyed a lot. We promised to visit and do other projects with them in the future. The clients of FMA are also part of our community. A hand will help another. Testimonial from a leader of FMA: Sherwin Margaritha, activity leader of FMA, a foundation that dedicates itself to shelter and guidance of all kinds of addicts: "This project is unique! Our clients had the time of their lives. Their greatest struggle is to be accepted again by the community. And today, they were accepted and spoiled by youth" #MOP#MessengersOfPeace #MitaScout
