The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup of Bartlett Creek In Beamsville

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup of Bartlett Creek In Beamsville

Every year on the last Sunday of September all of 1st Beamsville Scouting take part in the annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. 1st Beamsville Scouting takes part in cleaning the waterways of Bartlett Creek in Beamsville. From the area around our scout hut to the traffic circle behind Beamsville Distract Secondary, all the way along the Bartlett Creek Trail, past John St and along Bartlett Road. Every year we try and get more volunteers and go farther down the creek. Removing all the garbage and recycling from the creek and the surrounding shorelines and we take it to the local dump and recycling depo. In the past years we had few beavers and their leaders come out, most of Cubs and their leaders and the all Scout, Ventures, Rovers and their advisers. We found complete bicycles, BBQ and a lot of construction supplies and a few neighbors that like throwing their Cigarette Butt in the creek. Every year we clean the creek and remove about 10 or more garbage and recycling bags. Below is a picture with some of the older Scouts and Ventures with our haul of garbage.
