Go Green, Plant Trees !

Due to the visionary leadership of his majesty the fourth druk gyalpo,Bhutan wears the crown of biodiversity despite being a poor and a small developing country. We believe that planting trees are the best solution in combating alarming phenomenons such as climate change and global warming. As a global citizen and as an individual who will be responsible for future, I am inspired and motivated to take a step forwards in building a greener and a healthier planet .
Due to the inspiring bold moment of our king, every bhutanese citizen is keen in keeping our natural environment safe and sound for the young seedlings that will take over our country in future. With this kind ambition, a total of 48 young volunteers planted 500 seedlings of different trees around the Wangchang community. The volunteers were divided into groups and further into pairs where one dug and the other planted. From the second day, we started with the fencing and beautifying the area.
From my project around 7000 people were benefited. We are aware that trees have numerous benefits to the environment as it ensures ecological services such as clean air and clean water which will determine the happiness of people further fulfilling one of the pillars of GNH. Moreover People also need not have to worry about frequent land slide in the community.
From this project I learned that we can actually predict what the future will be by the deeds we do today. Now I agree that alone we do so little and together we do much better. Team work really profound the role throughout the project. Many people initiate tree plantation campaign but fails to nurture them. So we requested each individually to adapt a tree and take care as if it’s their very own child. In that way it helped us build good bonding with the community and trust among each other.
