Founder's Day: Being Active in Community Service

The cleaners in our school work hard every day to keep the school clean and create a conducive environment for all of us. Seeing them work so hard all the time inspired me take action and give back to them.
We coordinated with the school's Operations Manager (OM) to help with various jobs around the school during our Saturday weekly meetings. The plan: 7th April - 2hr (planning and meet up with OM to discuss on the project for 10th Apr) 10th April - 4hr (Execution of Day 1 of service-learning activity) 14th April - 2hr (planning and meet up with OM to discuss on the project for 17th Apr) 17th April - 4hr (Execution of Day 2 of service-learning activity)
The school cleaners and the school population from the cleaning of the canteen and hall. All the scouts including the ones who did not take part in the project benefitted from the clearing of the rotting poles.
We learnt that it is very important to divide manpower efficiently and a good plan allows for the activity to be carried out smoothly.
