For a month leading up to our annual Hobo Night Sleepover, the Cub Scouts of Somerton Park Sea Scouts brought in food to be donated to the local Foodbank. During the sleepover, the Cubs slept in cardboard boxes. The goal was for the youth to gain an appreciation for the hardships that the homeless and less fortunate go through. We collected the donated food and boxed it according to its type. This was then donated to the Foodbank for distribution to the needy.
