Flood Relief Distribution in Comilla
Flooding is a common disaster that occurs in riverine bangladesh every single year claiming the lives of thousands, particularly farmers. Farmers lose their houses, crops, land, income, and face a dire absence of safe drinking water as well as food in the shelters. In a bid to help, we, the scouts of Rajuk Uttara Model College Scout Group, mobilized to help the flood-invaded Cumilla in August 2024
This initiative aimed at raising funds and providing assistance to flood victims in Burichong, Cumilla. From August 25 to 31, eight scouts with two Rover Scout members and a single adult leader participated in this project. After collecting sufficient funds, the scouts prepared and assembled about 200 relief packages which included all the necessary items. On August 31, We visited the site with local community members and police officers to help in the distribution.
We learned a lot from this project. Seeing the smiles and hope on the faces of those we helped was truly moving. It taught us the value of teamwork and showed that, with unity, we can make a real difference for people in need—even in a short time.
