FaithFull - Proyekto Pagtuo

Help Scouts in the Philippines develop a diverse interfaith community without borders working towards one goal - a BETTER and BRIGHTER FUTURE for EVERYONE. How can we create that future? By eliminating inequality and discrimination through dialogue and working together in creating community projects geared towards the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS for nation-building and climate action.

In the Philippines, there is conflict due to the contradicting and varying beliefs of the people. In Bacolod City, a lot of young people are calling for change for a better community, however, few has taken action. People tend to think that because two people have different creeds or belief, they cannot work together in anything for they will have a conflict of interest. We are starting the Project FaithFULL with the goal to create a network of different religious youth and train them to become leaders working together for positive change in our community. With this, we aim not only to reduce inequalities and eliminate religious discrimination, but also contribute to climate action and creating a safe space through the Better World Framework.

With these things in mind, we will be incorporating Rover Scouting in this project. Rovering provides enjoyable activities that combine personal development with meaningful service. Baden-Powell called it a “brotherhood of open air and service”. The objectives of Rovering are to: Provide service to the Scout Movement, provide service to the community, develop as individuals by expanding one's range of skills, Enjoy fellowship, social, outdoor, and cultural activities.

Furthermore, Rovering provides an experience that leads to a life enriched in the following ways: Character and Intelligence, Handicraft and Skill, Health and Strength, Service for Others, and Citizenship. Each of these elements, from character through service, finds expression in the Crew's activities. The participants in our projects will be registered as Rover Scouts under the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. They will also be trained and briefed about Rovering and Scouting through the Rover Vigil. Thus, incorporating the young leaders with the ideals of Rover Scouting and to work towards the SDGs. Together, we can create communities without borders, contribute to nation-building and climate action, and bring a better FUTURE.

To simplify, what we dream to have is a network of InterFaith Youth Leaders working together towards the Sustainable Development Goals through sustainable community projects, the Scouting Movement, and the Dialogue for Peace Program.
