
Ethics and Integrity Management
Ethics and Integrity Management: Corruption is a global challenge. It is not an exception to Bhutan. Although Bhutan scored 65/100 in corruption prevalence ranking 27/176 worldwide, we committed not to remain complacent. To this effect, the Anti-Corruption Commission of Bhutan initiated to reach in every spheres of civil servants to better deal the corruption practices. To this effect, i have been shouldering this pivotal responsibilities along with my four colleagues advocating on how to better manage corruption by practicing ethics and integrity in all walks of life.
I reached five schools and met with the Principals and teachers there. I also met with all the civil servants in the District administration, and all the civil servants residing in all 12 Gewogs (Local Government). In total, i advocated on following five most important tools to better prevent the corruption viz.
1. Managing Conflict of Interest (CoI)
2. Declaration of Assets
3. Strict enforcement of Gift Rule of Bhutan 2017
4. Observing the highest standards of Civil Service Code of Conduct
5. Effective formation and implementation of Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) in every ties of administration.
In total, 372 participants were sensitized.
