Ensure healthy lives and well being
"Every time I pass through the slum area near the railway tracks, I'm struck by the resilience of the children and people living there. It pains me to think they're unaware of the opportunities available to them - government schemes, education, sanitation etc... I feel a strong desire to reach out and let them know they deserve a better life."
I visited the slum area with a ranger friend of mine and we engaged with the locals - parents and kids - using posters and conversations. We discussed ways to maintain sanitation, use clean water and food,send kids to school, and achieve a better life. After interacting with them, we tried to make them understand the importance of these aspects.
I learnt that change in slum areas is tough but not impossible....
Every individual deserves a healthy life and one small step can lead a impactful change.
