Distribution of Dates and Porridge to the Front Linear
This is my first face-to-face project in 2021 with the new Scout Association named Air Rover Kajang (A). Coronavirus is around the corner so we really behave during the distribution. Our Captain, Captain Wafi make sure all the members wear a mask and he also advised us to use a hand sanitiser. We also do social distance during a meeting. 8 members participated during the distribution of dates and green bean porridge to the front liner. The most interesting is that 2 of the members are paramedics and they drive the Ambulans during the distribution since they serve for Community Relief Society Malaysia (CRS Malaysia). We started our project at 8 AM by cooking some green bean Porridge and pack the dates. By 10 AM we managed to prepare 100 kg Dates and 100 Bowls of porridge. Here is the list of the area we covered :
- Bangi Toll Roadblocks
- Nilai Toll Roadblocks
- Kajang MRT
- Bandar Baru Bangi Police Station
- Bandar Baru Bangi Fire Station
- Jalan Reko Bazaar
- Indian Mosque
- Surau Al-Ikhlas, Section 4 Tambahan
The project ended at 9 PM. It was tiring for me because the activity was held during Ramadhan and Muslim people must fast. But it's not a reason that hindering me to help others. Even though Muslim is fasting, non-muslim people also accept our gift to them since Malaysia is a universal country. I feel so fresh that I could go out and help others because I've been staying home for almost 2 months due to increasing cases of coronavirus.
I hope I get a chance again to do such volunteering activities so that I can empathize with people in need by going out from my comfort zone because many more people are starving out there and they need help.
