Dengue Prevention & Cleaning Campaign

As a Scout, I believe in protecting my community's health and wellbeing. Dengue and Chikungunya are serious diseases that affect thousands of people in Bangladesh every year. I was motivated to organize this prevention campaign to raise awareness among community members and clean up trash and waste from our surroundings where mosquitoes breed, in order to protect our community from these dangerous diseases.
This project was funded by the Scout Zila. We gathered 150 participants and divided them into teams. One team conducted awareness activities among community members about dengue and chikungunya prevention. The other team carried out a thorough cleaning campaign, collecting and removing trash and waste from the area to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds. A total of 500 people in the community directly benefited from our campaign.
Through this Dengue Prevention & Cleaning Campaign I learned the importance of community health and hygiene. I learned that simple actions like removing trash and waste from our surroundings can help prevent deadly diseases like dengue and chikungunya. This project taught me teamwork, leadership and how to organize a large group of people effectively. Most importantly I learned that as a Scout, I can make a real difference in protecting my community's health and wellbeing.
