Dealing with Disaster
I first received disaster response training from my District Rover Scout and Region Rover Scout. Since receiving disaster training, I always prepare myself mentally and physically to face any calamity like cyclone, flood, tidal wave etc. Later I was given the responsibility by the administration to ensure the safety of the people in the coastal areas to save their lives and bring smiles back to their faces.
We identify coastal areas before hurricanes arrive. 36 rover scouts divided into 9 categories. From security to clean water, dry food and first aid, we ensure the well-being of asylum seekers. Considering the quality of life of those who are not staying in the shelters, we have been able to bring them to the shelters by sending various campaigns and warning messages. Applicable number, police station and administration scouts have worked maintaining safety and security above all else.
Since dealing with the cyclone we have been able to serve about 1850 people. They are very happy with our service. Many have lost their houses, cows and goats and suffered financially. Many did not want to come to the shelter, leaving their cattle at home for fear of hope. We have been able to bring space for cattle in shelters through warning messages and public awareness considering the risk to their lives.
Calamities and dangers does not come calls to calls anyone. We should all be strong and stand by each other in times of danger. Be strong and encourage others. If you work with a cool head without misbehaving with anyone, all work can be done beautifully. By doing this, everyone is well and being saved from all dangers, one can be able to face all kinds of disasters.
