During the month of Ramadhan, an awareness to the needy activity was initiated for the cubs in our school. This project was organised with the aim of letting the young cubs be aware on what they could do to contribute to the community. Our group comprised of the cubs with some parents and also the pack leaders of the school. With the cooperation of officers from JAPEM (Department of Community Developement) Tutong and the Ketua Kampung ( Village Head), we were able to visit 3 needy families in the nearby villages of Tutong. The cubs handed over their contribution of food for the month of Ramadhan and to witness and listen to the plights of the families. After the visit, we had a sharing session with the cubs as to what they had witnessed and what they feel. They observed the plight of a widow with 5 schooling age children and the aged living alone. We hope to be able to expose the cubs to more varieties of community awareness activities in the future and this is only the beginning.
