COVID-19 Mental Health Awareness Project

Since we are notable to provide direct service to people in this pandemic. That’s why We came up with, the first ever”CVD-19 Mental Health Awareness Project” in the history of 13 Hussars Open Scout Group on a fully online platform.Mental Health is still a stigma in our society. Especially in this global pandemic, we found many of our friends and loved ones suffering from depression, anxiety and many other mentally health problems. Worries about their studies, jobs and well-being put them tougher situation. And in situation like these, many of us don’t always know what to do, they don’t know that we should consult a psychologist. Even if they do, they can’t go to a psychologist because of financial inabilities. That is why we thought of a way to provide mental health care, which is fully online and free so that anyone could join, learn and be aware about their mental health. Our project proposal was approved on 6th June 2020. From 7th June 2020 to 4th July 2020 we discussed and made arrangements for our project via online meetings on Zoom. That is why we thought of a way to provide mental health care, which is fully online and free so that anyone could join, learn and be aware about their mental health. We created an email account and a google doc form for our survey, in order to better understand the mental health issues people are facing in the current situations. We received total 165 responses from the survey, where we found that most of the people are frustrated in this pandemic situation. We made Posters, Banners, Videos for creating awareness and letting people know about our project. From 5th July 2020 to 21st September 2020 we arranged 5 live sessions on the 5th, 6th, 9th, 15th July and 21st September with our 5 honourable guests who are mental health experts. The live session were held on Zoom meetings and streamed live on Facebook. The current mental health issues and their remedies were discussed in the live sessions. The topic were selected based on the response of the survey. Questions were also taken into account from the comment section.
