CONQUER COVID-19: PROJECT HEALTH PROTOCOL

Our goal is to donate thermal scanners, alcohol dispensers, soap and foot baths, and individual soaps with hand washing instructions to various undersupplied churches and schools all over Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. We want to be an active part in the continual prevention of the further spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Aside from practicing social distancing and following IATF guidelines , the community needs to be aware of avoiding unintentionally spreading or catching the virus when going outside. Establishments also need to be equipped in proper disinfection tools for the safety of their employees and the people inside.

Due to a lack of financing and donations, some churches and schools are under-equipped with these Through this initiative entitled “CONQUER COVID-19: PROJECT HEALTH PROTOCOL”, we aim to be able to provide various undersupplied churches and schools in the city with thermal scanners, alcohol dispensers, and soap and foot baths intended to be used by employees and people who intend to set foot inside these premises. These will be displayed at their respective entrances and exits. Soaps with hand washing instructions will also be handed out to people entering these places to further emphasize the imperativeness of proper hand washing.

A high temperature is usually an indicator of having a fever, and a fever is one of the common symptoms of being infected with the virus. The use of thermal scanners play a part in early detection of the virus while the alcohol dispensers and soap baths are for disinfection. Along with this, health officials time and time again have said that proper hand washing is the simplest and an effective way of preventing the spread of the virus, thus it is important that the community is well-informed and encouraged to do so.

Aside from helping to stop the further spread of the virus, churchgoers, priests, lay ministers, altar servers, and lectors will also feel more at ease and protected knowing that the people inside the church have disinfected themselves and do not display one of the most common symptoms of the virus. Non-teaching personnel and teachers will also feel likewise. These tools will help ease anxiety and worry, at least momentarily, during this time of great unease.

This project would also inspire fellow Scouts and members of the community, sparking hope and showing that the spirit the Scout movement and community service is not lost even during these hard times.
