Community Service In Tsirang Tsechhu
Annually, Bhutanese celebrate tsechhu in each district. During Tsirang tsechhu, Me and other 49 scouts went for mass controlling. Because people suffer a lot from getting pushed by each other while getting blessings and even while witnessing the tsechhu, the old people don't get seat to witness. Even the children being in the large crowd, get lost. While controlling the mass, i got motivated when my seniors controlled well. Our goal was to protect the old people and children. And we did it!
It took place in Tsirang, Bhutan. To make our work successful, firstly the scouts cooperated well. We divided among ourselves into four groups to go in each place to control the mass. We stood there for hours being alert for people who needs help. We helped children who were lost find their parents. We guided the old people through the crowd towards their destination. When the crowd got up for the blessings, we sent them in line to avoid accidents.
since so many people come to witness the tsechhu, its hard to say the exact number of people but its lot more than 1000 people. Due to our service, No accidents happened. Most of the people appreciated the scouts. Since we even controlled the wastes, we achieved clean areas. But most important, we managed a successful event without a fight.
i learned or developed leadership qualities. I learnt values of friendship between the scouts while working together. I even learned more about the event which is an important part of bhutanese culture.
